Prof. Anna Chrobok is Vice-Dean for Science and International Cooperation at Faculty of Chemistry at Silesian University of Technology. She is working in Department of Chemical Organic Technology and Petrochemistry. Her scientific interest has focused on in organic chemistry and technology, studied various aspects of catalyst research for industrial organic chemistry. Her research interest research interests cover the following areas: • new methods of organic compounds synthesis, according to sustainable development and green chemistry rules; • heterogenous catalysis with the use of solid carriers for catalytic phase, such as carbon nanomaterials and silica; • homogenous catalysis with the use of ionic liquids; • synthesis and characterization of new ionic liquids; • application of ionic liquids as acidic catalysts in processes, including Baeyer-Villiger oxidation, Fiedl-Crafts alkylation, Diels-Alder cycloaddition and Fischer esterification; • chemo-enzymatic and enzymatic oxidation of ketones and lactones.
