The study shows the potential of mapping biodiversity changes within Ukraine's temporarily occupied territories, exemplified by the "Oleshkivski Pisky" National Natural Park in occupied part of Kherson Region (Ukraine). This mapping process is significant due to the park's mission of conserving endemic flora and fauna. The research aims to produce up-to-date thematic biodiversity inventory maps, utilizing spatial data sources such as Ukraine's State Cadastres and the National Spatial Data Infrastructure. To enhance accuracy and comprehensiveness, the NNP's specialized GIS database is proposed. However, periodic monitoring is essential, primarily achieved through remote sensing techniques since the park was occupied by the Russian Federation. The effectiveness of the study could potentially be enhanced by incorporating a discussion of the challenges and limitations faced during remote monitoring under occupation by an enemy force, offering a comprehensive view of the applicability of the methodology.
