The article presents a technique for calculating the volume determined by ravines and described by cartographic materials. The volume is calculated by the cross-sectional method using the Simpson formula. Cross-sectional areas are calculated from the map as polygon areas. The errors of the Simpson formula itself and the errors of calculating the cross-sectional areas are described and calculated in detail. Richardson extrapolation was used to get adjusted value of the volume, and Runge rule was used to estimate the errors.
