Microhardness of the amorphous and nanostructured alloys system Al87 (Y, Gd)5Ni8 as electrodes for hydrogen evolution

It was investigated the processes of hydrogen evolution on aluminum amorphous and nanostructured electrodes Al87Y5Ni8, Al87Y4Gd1Ni8, Al87Gd5Ni8 in 1 M KOH alkaline solution. By electron microscopy method it was analysed the electrodes surface and found elemental composition before and after hydrogen evolution reaction in alkaline environment. It was also explored mechanical properties of AMA-electrodes before and after hydrogen evolution reaction. The main purpose of the research work was to find new electrode materials for hydrogen power engineering.
