The research assesses natural geodynamic deformations at the Kaniv Hydroelectric Power Plant (HPP) using GNSS Continuous Operating Reference Station (CORS) data collected from 2021 to 2023. Data from 14 GNSS stations within the GeoTerrace and System.NET networks were processed to generate spatial time series. Analysis of daily coordinate data identified residual deformations, interpreted as tectonic movements, with deformation velocities increasing from 0.2 mm/year to 1.2 mm/year. The biggest deformations are at the edges of the region. A velocity map and vector field model visualise these deformation patterns, indicating a relatively stable area with no significant signs of major geodynamic activity. These findings enhance understanding of the region’s geodynamics and support ongoing safety monitoring of the dam and hydro structures at Kaniv HPP.
