Abstract

The article explores the application of Geographic Information Systems (GIS) in territory planning for the use of renewable energy sources (RES) in Ukraine, focusing on how GIS can optimize the placement and development of RES infrastructure. The ongoing conflict in Ukraine has highlighted the need for resilient energy solutions, making RES development a strategic priority. GIS offers tools for spatial analysis, modeling, and data integration, which can support effective and environmentally responsible decision-making in the energy sector. The study presents a spatial model for planning RES territories using GIS at various administrative levels. This model can help minimize environmental impact while maximizing the economic benefits of renewable energy projects, contributing to Ukraine's energy independence and sustainable development.
