Abstract

The spatial and ordinal structure of the hydrographic network of the Borzhava River basin, the development and functioning of which is influenced by natural and anthropogenic factors, was analyzed using the methods of geographic information analysis and geospatial data processing. Based on the results of vectorization of the topographic base and digital geospatial data in the ArcGIS software environment, permanent and temporary watercourses, ditches, canals and canalized sections of watercourses and ditches with a total length of more than 3 thousand km were identified. Using the tools of modern geographic information systems, 7 orders of permanent watercourses were identified in the structure of the Borzhava River hydrographic network, which differ significantly in length, fullness, morphometric and morphological features, development of water-gravity processes, etc. The article analyzes their spatial distribution and the main features of the main types of watercourses that form a complex functional river network. As part of the metrication and assessment of the hydrographic network, considerable attention was also paid to the distribution of artificial elements of the hydrographic network (canals, ditches, etc.) within the Borzhava River basin, which are important for agriculture, drainage, etc.
