Abstract

Today, in the use of land resources, especially agricultural land, there are many cases of illegal land grabbing and their use for tax-free profits, illegal construction or land destruction. Such a situation only increases the level of the shadow economy in this area. The level of development of geoinformation systems and technologies allows us to move to the qualitative level of spatial data base formation, to rationally use and preserve the land resources of our country. The foreign experience in the use of geospatial information (GIS) and remote sensing of the Earth (RS) technologies for the assessment, classification of land areas and automated mapping of land use types was analyzed. The use of GIS technologies to detect illegal land use and monitor landowners and land users can be an effective tool to prevent illegal actions and ensure greater transparency in land relations.
