The existing environmental restrictions of planning the construction of renewable energy facilities in the Lviv region have been scrutinized. According to the current legal acts, the main limiting factors for the development of solar, wind, hydrogen and other types of renewable energy have been presented. With the help of the geoinformation system QGIS 3.16.8, a map of environmental restrictions of activity in Lviv region has been created. The geospatial features of the development of various types of renewable energy in the region have been studied. It has been found that more than 25% of the territory of the Lviv region is the subject to environmental restrictions for carrying out activities.
