Abstract

Area of land plots and other related real estate objects is measured by the results of field geodesic measurements. The most often case is measuring the area of real estate objects of polygonal shape by the coordinates of their vertices. To identify position of the vertices, which limit the polyhedron area, the polygonal networks, different marks and theodolite traverses are built. The coordinates are also identified by means of satellite geodesic equipment. Having determined the coordinates, the object area can be measured and its accuracy can be assessed. There is also an option to measure the area with no reference of the object edges to the geodesic network. Using tacheometers, one can measure the horizontal directions and distances and therefore, obtain the vertices position in the local polar system of coordinates. By using electric tacheometers, the results of measuring can be obtained in the form of growth of the rectangular coordinates in the same local system instead of the directions and distances. Such results greatly simplify the formulas of the area measurements.
