Abstract

The mathematical and statistical modelling of determining the accuracy of calculating the area
of real estate objects is carried out. It is proved that the accuracy of determining the area of a
polygonal object under the condition of uncorrelated coordinates depends on the accuracy of
determining the coordinates of the vertices of the real estate object, its area, the number of vertices
and the configuration of the object. With other characteristics remaining the same, the error in
determining the area of a rectangular object is approximately proportional to the error in the
coordinates. Practical examples are used to implement the theoretical proofs for determining the
root mean square errors of the areas of real estate objects of various configurations. It is
substantiated that for calculating the areas of real estate objects by vertex coordinates, the most
advantageous land plots for ensuring maximum accuracy are those having the shape of equilateral
triangles and squares.
