Groundwater level data from wells ot the State Hydrogeological Monitoring Network in Ukraine were used to analyze the relationship between selected remote sensed drought indices and groundwater level fluctuation. Obtained results have shown that drought indices can be used for a rapid assessment of drought impact on groundwater levels. Investgating group of wells in the study area with different hydrogeologic properties can help to understand the influences of meteorological and hydrological drought on groundwater aquifers.
