Artur Jerzy BADYDA (1978) – doctor of science, associate professor, head of the department (since 2016) in the Department of Informatics and Environment Quality Research of Warsaw University of Technology, since 2010 head of the Laboratory of Environment Quality Research. His scientific interests are closely related to environmental determinants of health, health impact assessment, with particular emphasis on the influence of ambient air pollution on the environment and human health. Professional interests are focused on issues related to environmental protection management, air quality monitoring, broadly defined environmental protection, environmental impact assessment of large infrastructure and industrial investments and energy efficiency as well as common ecological education, especially in the area of health effects of exposure to air pollution. He also deals with problems of public consultation in the field of infrastructure investments. Former advisor to the Minister of Environment of the Republic of Poland. Currently among others: deputy editor-in-chief of the journal Alergoprofil (since 2019), member of the scientific board of the journal Medycyna Środowiskowa – Environmental Medicine (since 2015) and the journal Complementary and alternative medicine in science (since 2013), statistical editor in The Polish journal of sports medicine (since 2011), editor-in-chief of the journal Challenges of modern technology (since 2010). He is the President of the Foundation for Young Scientists (since 2010) and Chairman of The Central Youth Commission in Polish Federation of Engineering Associations – NOT (since 2008). In 2010-2019 he was also a member of the National Commission for Environmental Impact Assessment. He works in scientific and professional societies being the member of Polish Society of Environmental Medicine (since 2014), expert on environmental determinants of health in the Polish Federation of Asthma, Allergy and COPD Patients’ Associations (since 2013), member of The Polish Association of Cleaner Production (since 2012), member of the Polish Society of Lung Diseases (since 2012) and member of the European Respiratory Society (since 2011). Member of numerous advisory groups in the public sector and commercial enterprises.
