In the Ukrainian Polissya, lake-wetland complexes are among the most important components of the natural landscape and an economic resource. Wetlands, as a biosphere component, serve as crucial hydrological and climatic regulators in Polissya, zones for biotic diversity, and areas for the formation of valuable resources such as peat and sapropel. Special attention is given to information support, as the practical significance of many water management schemes largely depends on the availability, reliability, and presentation of initial data. The need for information on lake-wetland and wetland-floodplain complexes arises from the necessity of scientifically substantiating optimization measures for regulating the natural regime of drained lands and assessing the impact of drainage reclamation on the water regime. Lake-wetland complexes are natural systems of varying complexity that include lakes, wetlands, and the slopes of local watersheds, all characterized by a common hydrological regime and natural processes. A quantitative assessment of these lake-wetland complexes has been conducted using the Volyn region as an example. In this region, they cover 208 thousand hectares (10.3% of the territory).
