Abstract

Following the full-scale invasion of Ukraine by Russia and the active hostilities, land for a variety of purposes has been severely damaged. The quality of agricultural soils has deteriorated. In order to restore agricultural land, it is necessary to have sufficient information about these areas, in particular: the exact geolocation of the object, the area, the diameter of the crater, etc. The article proposes a methodology for the inventory and assessment of the consequences of damage to agricultural landscapes using remote sensing methods. The investigation was carried out on the example of Andriivka, Bucha district, Kyiv region, where active hostilities were conducted in the first days of the full-scale invasion.

The remotely obtained information about the agricultural landscapes damaged as a result of hostilities enables specialists in the restoration, reclamation and rehabilitation of agricultural land to determine the costs, timing of work and the level of their suitability in the short and long term.

The advantages of this methodology include: efficiency and accuracy of work performance, assessment of the extend of damage prior to demining, and the ability to monitor the condition of damaged objects after reclamation.
