Abstract

Along with the calculation of the quantity according to the formulas expressed through the measured elements, an important place is the estimation of the accuracy of its calculation. After all, it is by it that we can judge the degree of reliability of the found value. There are different approaches to assessing the approximation of the calculated value to its true value. For example, in a number of technical disciplines, in particular in physics, it is preferred to estimate the accuracy by using the relative error, which shows the percentage contribution of the error to the true value of the sought quantity. A slightly different approach to accuracy assessment is considered in geodetic disciplines, which is based on the mathematical concept of the differential of the function.
