Abstract

Given the current need to monitor green spaces - modern technologies for remote sensing of the Earth are, if not the best way to accomplish this mission. From the conducted studies, it became clear that the monitoring of plantations should be carried out on a permanent basis, and it is advisable to use remote sensing to speed up the process and improve the quality.

The authors analysed plantations on the territory of the cities of Sumy and Ternopil using remote sensing technologies and specialized software. According to the analysis, it became possible to compare the ratio of plantations to the area in each of the cities, to study the state of plantations and the trend of changes in their quantities.
